I do it because of her, my hero, to make her proud

My mom passed away almost 7 years ago from cancer.
That in itself was one of the most difficult things I've ever experienced.  My mom was strong, brave and raised me to believe in myself.  She encouraged me to do anything I wanted and to do it now because time is never promised.  My mom encouraged me to move away, see the world, stand on my own two feet and feel what it's like to be proud of myself.

When she was diagnosed with cancer she never complained or cried in front of me.  Instead she smiled and said "it's ok, I can beat this".  I remember those words during every grueling workout.  And I do it because of her, my hero, to make her proud.  To show her I am everything she prayed I'd be. I'm strong.
